The NBD RE-TOX™ program is designed to significantly improve your chances of achieving a solid meaningful recovery while teaching you how to live your life drug and alcohol free.  Utilizing proven successful medication protocols and FDA approved medications in conjunction with In-Patient Treatment, an individual can become drug free and complete treatment at the same time.

NOTE: this treatment modality is a combination of Out-Patient (ambulatory) detoxification and In-Patient rehabilitation for substance abuse.  This not to be confused with IN-PATIENT DETOXIFICATION (acute care) treatment.  Prospective patients are carefully screened to verify appropriateness for this less intensive medical / medication treatment protocol. 

Let's Explore the RE-TOX™ Concept

RE-TOX™ is a medical protocol combining a medically supervised detox with residential or day/night treatment.  The genesis of RE-TOX™ came primarily from two different sources. First and probably most important is the financial aspect which includes managed health care.

The cost for an inpatient detox plus a twenty-eight day stay at a residential facility can be costly - ranging from twenty-thousand dollars to upward of thirty-five thousand dollars depending on the facility, the type of detox and the length of stay. It is also well documented that health insurance policies that include mental health or substance abuse benefits, have been shrinking in size for many years often leaving individuals with little or no coverage for substance abuse, detox and treatment.

Secondly, it has been touted that treatment or group therapy is not effective when clients are under the influence of mood altering medication. While this has some validity, it appears to be a common practice that substance abuse facilities are allowing clients to use anti-depressants, sleeping medication, and mood stabilizers as part of the accepted medical protocol while attending group. RE-TOX™ takes into account both practices allowing for a much lower cost for treatment while allowing the client to fully participate in group therapy.  

The RE-TOX™ protocol, is especially effective when used for opiate detox with Suboxone™. It allows the patient to function normally in most areas of life, being able to participate in group process as well. RE-TOX™, because it involves carefully defined medical protocols, usually allows clients to participate in a full scope of activate regardless of the drug involved.    

After completion of RE-TOX™, it is recommended that patients be involved in an aftercare program that addresses the medical and psychological needs of the patient newly released from a cloistered environment.
